MTN Light Line
You will find in this guide all information you need to know about MTN Light line.
MTN offers you today its new MTN pre-paid Light line:
- MTN Light enables the user to contact only 5 local numbers (Mobile or land lines) picked by a controller line as following (2 phone numbers and three mobile numbers, 1 phone number and 4 mobile numbers, 5 mobile numbers) in addition to 1 international number.
- MTN Light enables the user to receive calls from any number or only from the 6 chosen numbers in his/her list according to the controller line's picks
- MTN Light enables to send local SMSs to all numbers of its list
- MTN Light receives text messages from any destination
- MTN Light's users are able to call the customer care number 111 according to the applied fees
- MTN Light is able to contact the short codes: 1818 - 1819 - 1800
- MTN Light is able to call: *100#, *110# and *125#
- MTN Light is able to contact emergency numbers
How can I start my MTN Light?
Few steps to start your MTN Light line:
- Insert your SIM in your mobile phone
- Turn on the mobile phone
- MTN will appear on your mobile's screen
- Use any of our charging cards starting from SYP 400
How can I activate my MTN Light and charge it?
- • Call 1818 to activate or recharge your MTN light line by following the instructions of the answer machine
- Or dial *110*Scratched card number# (from left to right) to receive a message contains your balance and validity period
- Or by visiting MTN centre or CSC to use the unites with no cards service, you'll receive a message to your mobile of your new balance and validity
- You will receive a message contains the line's number after charging or using any of the above options
What about my balance and validity?MTN Light is provided with 50 units added to its balance directly with the first charge.
ValidityWhen activating your MTN Light by any of charging cards options equal or above 400 units, 90 days extra validity will be added to your balance.
In case MTN Light was not recharged, the line will enter the grace period that is 5 days with the ability of receiving incoming calls and SMSs only. You can re-charge MTN Light during the grace period by adding new units to your balance and your validity period, the validity period will be added starting from recharging date.
Deactivated periodIn case not re-charging your MTN Light during the grace period, the system will freeze the units till you activate your MTN Light within 30 days from expiry date of grace period, this operation can be done by visiting any MTN's costumer care centres, or by recharging MTN Light with any of MTN's charging cards starting from 200 units.
Activating MTN Light will cost 134 units deducted once you recharge your MTN Light, or by using ATM system to choose the card's category; you will receive a SMS to your mobile informing you with your new transferred balance.
Knowing your balanceTo know your MTN Light's balance, you can easily contact 1819 (10 units /call), or dial *100# to get your information free (balance and validity period)
After every outgoing calls or SMS, You will receive automatically SMS contains used units, remaining unites and expiration date.
TariffDuring normal days
Mobile to mobile = 8 units
During happy Fridays from 6 a.m to 6 p.m
Mobile to mobile = 6 units
Mobile to landline = 8 units
Friends and Family numbers
You can get a call and SMS cost reduced on two particular numbers selected from the white numbers list to become 6 units/ minute to these 2 numbers at any time
How to control MTN Light?You can control MTN Light by the main mobile line from MTN (pre-paid or post paid), the main MTN line enables you to choose 5 numbers to contact and receive calls from them, it also enables you to change your 6 white numbers into other ones or modify them any time.
To modify your white numbers, please follow the bellow steps:

1- My MTN light numbers: when you choose option 1, the system will view the MTN Light's numbers controlled by your line
2- Controlling MTN light :when you choose option 2, the system will show you the below options:
- Friends and Family number: to define the Friends and Family list of numbers of MTN light line
- White numbers: to define the white 6 numbers of MTN light line.
- Receiving calls : to restrict or allow receiving calls by MTN light.
- Light line balance: to check the balance of MTN light lines.
- Units transfer: to transfer units among the MTN light lines controlled by the same line.
3- Adding MTN Light number : when choose option 3, you can add a new MTN Light number to your main MTN Light list, the system will request to add a password for the new MTN Light
Note: You can get MTN Light's secret code by dialing *125# from MTN Light's line
4- English : when you choose option 4 you can change the language of your administration menu for Arabic to English and vice versa
