Campaign Questions

  1. What is the MTN gold competition?
    It is a competition where MTN subscribers are challenged to send SMS with the text Gold to win high value prizes. Users may enter by sending an SMS to 1000. With each SMS they acquire 10 (or more) points in order to participate in the game. Extra points are given for completing challenges.

  2. What is the promotion duration?
    The promotion has a 84 day duration, starting from the 21st of December 2009 until the 14th of March 2010 inclusive.

  3. Who is eligible to participate?
    All subscribers of MTN can participate in competition except MTN light package subscribers.

  4. How can I participate?
    In order to enter the "MTN gold" competition, MTN subscribers should send an SMS with the text Gold to 1000 (cost of SMS: 50 SYP / 67 units)
    This enters the participant into the game and credits the user with 10 (or more) points. Points correspond to entries for the competition. Each SMS wins 10 (or more) points which again correspond to entries in the competition. In each draw, the user enters with all his points from the start of the promotion.
    Throughout the game, users have the chance to accumulate more points through additional challenges. The more SMS the user sends, the more points are accumulated increasing the chances for winning.

  5. How many times can I participate?
    There is no limit in the amount of times you can participate. Each SMS you send wins you 10 (or more) points which correspond to entries in competition. Throughout the game, users have the chance to accumulate more points through additional challenges. The more points you have, the higher the chances are for winning. In each draw, the user enters with all the points he has from start of the promotion.

  6. What is the meaning of the points?
    The points one possesses represent the number of entries he/she has to the competition. More points can be given by successfully completing challenges. The more SMS you send, the higher the chances are for winning.
    Each day, one player will win 200.000 SYP in Gold based on a draw (the more points a user has, the more entries into the draw and thus more chances of winning) and each month one player will win 2.000.000 SYP in Gold based on a draw.

  7. Where can I find more details for the Campaign?
    The participants may acquire additional information regarding the regulation of the campaign by calling 111 from their mobile telephone.

  8. I wish to not receive any Newsletter SMS
    All participants have the right not to receive the promotion SMS newsletter messages. In order to practice this right, they must contact MTN customer care by calling 111 and express their request.

Prizes

  1. Who participates?
    With every SMS someone sends he/she participates to competition of the same day and month. The more points a user has, the higher his/her chances of winning. For each period, the user enters the draw with all the points from the start of the promotion
    • Daily Prize: At the end of the day, a user wins through draw 200.000 SYP in Gold
    • Monthly Prize:  At the end of the month (3 in total), a user wins through draw 2.000.000 SYP in Gold
  2. How is the winner notified?
    MTN will make reasonable efforts to contact the winners by phone.

  3. I am a winner; can someone else collect my prize instead of me?
    The prizes are personal and can be redeemed only from the winner or an appointed representative authenticated by a public notary.

  4. How can I collect my prizes?
    When you win, you will receive a call from MTN to provide you with all necessary details for receiving your prize, including proper identification, prize acceptance and consent for appearance in a relevant publicity activity.

  5. Where will the winners be announced?
    You can be informed about the winners at the site: www.mtn.com.sy. Furthermore, after every week winners will be contacted by phone, with the purpose of informing them about the prizes they have won. The participant may acquire additional information regarding the winners by calling 111 from his/her mobile phone.

SMS Process Questions

  1.  I sent a message but didn’t receive a reply SMS
    If you have not received a reply SMS, verify the following:
    • Check if your mobile is full of messages and doesn’t have enough of memory to receive new ones. Please erase some messages to free up some memory.
    • The message wasn’t sent to the correct number. Write a new message and send it to 1000.
    • There is a chance the network in your area is overloaded at the moment. Please show some patience. If you don’t receive a message within 15 minutes, please send a new SMS.
  2. How many points do I have?
    After almost every SMS that you send to 1000 you will receive a reply SMS that will inform you of the total amount of points that you have gathered. You may acquire additional information regarding the total number of your points, prizes, including details regarding award of prizes, any other aspect of the campaign, as well as for suggestions or possible claims by calling 111 from your mobile phone.

  3. Can I play with different mobile phones?
    You can participate with as many different numbers you wish. However, each one participates separately.
